We might have a Eurail Global pass which covers all rail travel throughout Europe, but it does not cover the cost of reservation of seats on fast trains and that is compulsory. We decided not to start our trip at St Nazaire as we have read reports from other bloggers that getting out of that town across the multi-lane bridge without a cycle lane is an experience best avoided.

So tomorrow the next phase of 'le grande tour de Maggie et Keith' will commence from Nantes, 50k upstream from the Atlantic Coast. We can't wait to start!
