We started with a walking tour of Viviers, a village of about 5000 people. Narrow streets, old buildings, the church dating back to the 14(?) century. The walk spiralled up to the cathedral, which is the smallest one in France. Here, we were treated to an organ recital in the cathedral-what beautiful acoustics!

This morning we woke up and decided to walk into town to go and get some breakfast. We walked out and across the river and found a small patisserie in the middle of the town. When we got back, we ate our breakfast before laying in the shade for about half an hour and then deciding that we wanted to go to Die. Die is a small place near the start of the Alps. So, we packed everything up ...

... harder than we had imagined as we were paddling into the wind and the current was quite strong which meant that we had to continually try to steer the canoe to stop it veering towards the bank. This was when we started to think that maybe the 32km was perhaps a bit too much for a couple of novices…..then we got a very big surprise……the river had rapids!!!! We had no idea……we lined the canoe up and went down the first set with a big ...
