We set out for a walk first thing and found lovely trails heading into the hills and along the river. So good to get the early morning air with the sound of cow bells. ... without the green sticker by a policeman. We asked if this just applied to Freiburg, but it turns out it's applicable throughout all of Germany's main towns and cities - we'd been lucky so far on the trip then!

We bought some mini bottles of rum to drink with coke before bed, just to warm up the old cockles. We snuggled up in the tent and ended up chatting for hours before we eventually stopped talking to attempt sleep.

... are! We went back to our room and made a cup of tea while we waited for breakfast. I used the extra time to organize our bags again -- an unending task when traveling! At breakfast we sat next to Dwight and Molly and talked more about travel, etc., as we enjoyed our typical Chambre d'Hote breakfast of bread, bread, and more bread, butter, jam, orange juice, tea and coffee. ... to people as we went; it was strange to note that the only people who didn’t make eye contact or speak as we passed by were the British...the rest were Dutch or German and much more friendly. Ah well, the sun was still shining, the birds were still singing.

More strolling was followed by a bbq in the subshine - this really is a lovely site and thoroughly recommended.
