Saturday officially marked my first full month in Freiburg.. While I can still remember the day I stepped off the train in Freiburg like it was yesterday, at the same time I feel like I have lived in this city for way longer. It's such a strange mix of feelings.. I now know most of the shortcuts in the city, where to find the best Bratwurst and cheapest beer, and my German is beginning to slightly improve. Today I explored the Black Forest a little and hiked up to Schlossberg overlooking Freiburg. It was way ...

... no charges. Leaving Mulhouse a night early (I never paid for night 5) I now have three nights to spend somewhere. It was going to be Frankfurt for sure, but this morning I discovered Fussen looked adorable. Now I learn it takes 7 hours (vs 3 to Frankfurt) to reach by train. This doesn't fully deter me, but looking harder at descriptions of it I realise I'll probably end up (like here, Bruges, and Heidelberg) in a nice place with nice houses but not enough to fully occupy ...
