... Marc, for only 6.50€ wow!! They were in heaven. On the way home to Schwyz we got a little lost, ended up on the 419 main road thru the French countryside. Then once we passed thru the border at Basel it started to snow, and boy did it come down, we arrived home safely but there were 100's of accidents reported that afternoon-evening. ... Citron sorbet with gerwitztramier marinaded berries, yum! Washed down with a kir royal crement d'alsace. Meet Charlotte at the apartment, lots of room and great facilities. In France, there are often sobering reminders of the wartime violence and loss that has occurred in these beaucolic places we are cycling through. Even the smallest villages have war memorials for "les enfants" who died in WW I, II, sometimes also Indochine and Algeria. After leaving Kembs, back on the Canal du Rhône, we saw a WW II tank on one bank near a bridge and stopped to read the monument on the other. This was erected to honour those who had died ...

... my sign for the city centre, go by the tourist info office, and come out with a map of places doing wine tastings. I find my way to one (they're nice, but say come back at 4 pm when there's a group), fail to find the next I look for, and decide it's lunchtime.
