I also got to celibrate when I got home to Ouroux-sur-Saône. My host mother made one with chocolate inside and we ate it hot. We also got to eat galette many other times in the month because the bakeries sell them a bunch.

... new foods... Partly due to our poor French and decision to not translate everything but take a chance. The intention had always been to have quiet day where we are staying for Ryan's birthday and New Years Day. ... advertised times of being shut included New Year's Day but did not mention the 31st! Having driven quite a way to get there we felt let down.
