Staying at Martin Lake Resort which is a definite stretch! It is mobile home park not an rv park, with old fifth wheels and campers that people call home. There is a nice lake and a pool. We drove down along the gulf and stopped to take pictures of the carved trees damaged during Katrina. Absolutely beautiful! Had dinner at BBQ joint that had wonderful reviews but we didn't like it as much. However the owner was so friendly it made up for it. Leave tomorrow for ...

The casino offers shuttle service to your door, so because of the late hour we got a ride back to the RV and settled in for the ...

... when I want, without taking up space when I don’t need so much water. Your body can only process water so fast. If you are in a high water loss situation and you get behind, you can get in trouble. Riding across the deserts one day I drank two gallons of water and it was still not enough. That was before I started using proper riding gear. My first statement though, holds. You need to get out there and ride a lot to be able to ride a lot. Your butt gets used to it, ...

    Hints on distance riding

A travel blog entry by boardinglate on Sep 29, 2013

... level out to about 65% of their peak capacity. 2. Forget about high speeds. Forget what you've been told; high speeds and long-distance riding have little in common. A steady rider can book more miles, enjoy more mountain vistas and ride more twisty miles than a canyon carver bent on making the best times across a mountain pass. Besides the obvious effects on fuel mileage, which means more time wasted looking for gas, and the fatigue caused by fighting the effects of pushing a ...
