    Double header

Spent the day today here in camp. Cooking, cleaning and watching a double header on tv. We had another HUGE storm again tonight. Two nights in a row there have been tornado warnings here and they had to take everyone from the tent sites and have them sit in the basement of the camp office. We watched it for hours. Storms here are definitely not like the ones we have in California. Tomorrow we head for Indiana!!! Look out cousins, here we ...

... know what this is, its a glass box that sticks out of the building on the 101st floor. You stand IN the box and on clear days can actually see four different states! Since the dogs can't go and it's 93 degrees out, we passed.
When we did get home we had the Mother of ALL Thunderstorms for entertainment. We just turned out the lights, sat in the Captains chairs and watched the show for a few hours. AMAZING!

    Fire flies for you!

Well, all the lazing reading and listening to the critters means we had some chores to get done, so today, that is what we did. House cleaning.
As a reward we got to watch the fire flies again tonight AND we got woken up at 2:30 in the morning by a HUGE thunder and lightening storm! Loved it!

Okay, I have dried dozens of times to attach a video of the fireflies, but it just won't work. If it ever does, I will let you know. Sorry.

We took a drive into Rockford today. May I say...BOO! There was one small stretch of land that had some beautiful houses on a lake, but other than that...everything we saw was broken down, run down, empty and trashed. The "highway" runs right through town but we just couldn't get out of there quite fast enough.
We came back to camp and Mike decided to detail the Jeep a bit. I, on the other hand, just enjoyed the view. I think you can understand why ;-)

A tribute to mom with my 1st tattoo...

... then I can have the strength to get a damn tattoo!! When I got up from the table to look at it in the mirror I cried instantly. I truly believe mom is my angel and now she really will be on my shoulder forever. I’m very grateful that my 2 friends shared this unforgettable special moment with me. It felt very fitting that I got it done at a shop a few blocks away from where mama brought me into the world at Sycamore Hospital…
