We all met at the Ft. Myers Airport at 1:30PM. Everyone was excited and some of the students were a little nervous! After checking in our baggage, we took a few photos and headed to security. ... watched some weather channel prior to leaving so I knew what the day had in store, the first hour still in Georgia was sunny and nice but dark clouds were looming on the horizon, literally. We were on HWY 19 SB, and the rain started, lightly, just past Perry as we left the mainland and went out onto the pan handle.

The systems were in bands so the rain was never really heavy, and it was intermittent. Once again, ...

... Who would be first to see a firefly? Maybe it was me...or maybe that was wishful thinking? LOL The glen had a sparse understory of low bushes and was punctuated by tall straight trees with a full green canopy. As darkness fell, there was only the murmur of voices to be heard as a light breeze shook raindrops from the canopy...all very bucolic by where were the fireflies? And then it began.
