... in the middle of summer when the temperature on land is 30degrees+. It wasn't long before we spotted several large pods of belugas and then a couple of humpbacks, a minke and a fin whale, not to mention the numerous grey seals who were convinced we were looking at them and posing beautifully for pictures! All in all a very pleasant day. Once back on land we headed off for Quebec City to stay at a bnb as the forecast is for heavy rain tonight. ...

... sitting in the waiting room, as we were all too tired to head back into the city. An hour later, a looooooong walk up all those stairs and that very steep hill and we arrived back at our very, very hot apartment. We spent the next hour trying to get the place cooled off by placing the fans outside of the windows and blowing the cool air in. Finally about 1 am, it cooled off enough to sleep. Needless to say, we will be sleeping in tomorrow.

... and took a nap! Made dinner at the same time as Claire and Marie, then made my way into the old town as there were things going on for the fête de Québec. Lots of streer performers, and also this strange theatre type thing where there were actors sitting in a park with lit up balloons and people went pver in groups whilst the actor told a 'secret'. Aquarium de Québec.


A part les trucs classiques à Québec, la citadelle et la vieille ville, il y a peu de choses à voir. Les chutes Montmorency, déjà faites. Quelques promenades le long du fleuve, idem. Heureusement, il y a aussi un super aquarium, alors lorsque j'ai eu une journée de libre nous avons décidé d'y aller.

Farewelled New York with a final evening out wandering and soaking up the atmosphere in 35 degrees at 9pm. wow this was amazing -good to get back to air con room. Set off early still in 35deg to catch the train(as it turned out a very slow train ) to Montreal. We were on Amtrac-avoid at all costs. fabulous view and scenery but stopped all the time. Had a lady behind us that didn`t draw breath for 12 ...
