... Again the boys spent all the time playing the snow - you'd think they'd never seen snow at Christmas before???? Booked ski lessons and passes to start Monday before driving back to Quebec and walking up the outdoor ice skating rink just up from our hotel. we're hoping the main skating in the forest, 3 kms of it, will be open following the next few days of really cold weather. ... needed to have a much closer eye on the children, Sammy in particular who is in the habit of running towards whatever catches his eye! We left the garden at 6pm to get some dinner, and discovered that the Main Street had been closed to traffic and the restaurants were flowing out onto the sidewalk. It was all so lovely. However with two very tired children I didn't attempt a restaurant. Instead we had a hotel floor picnic - which is heaps more fun for kids ...

It is really pretty to stay near the mountains...

But not near the highway, I really hate the sound of vehicles. Especially after the Vietnam robbery, and my crazy JC highway cycle stunt. Walking along the highway made me very jittery now. And I need to pee, but no toilet in sight.

People might think I am mad, stingy and not logical. You are on a holiday! Why are you not eating at all the restaurants and going ...

... was going to leave Singapore... I took a taxi from V house.
V was shocked that I sat right next to the taxi driver. He said that no one does that.

I like to sit beside the taxi driver, so I can have a proper conversation with him.
It is also a little like giving him some respect... because I don't see him as my personal chauffeur.
In fact, that night, that taxi driver asked me the same question ...

... good. We then waited on a street near the Parliament House for the Quebec Winter Carnival Parade. By the time the parade started it was -10 degrees Celsius but it was worth the wait for the beautiful lights, colour and music of the parade.
