... waves. It was a great feeling and really nice to know how to do it. The lesson had certainly been worth it. We had the same lunch as yesterday - shrimps and chicken kebabs with garlic bread...deliciously simple and tasty. Fortified with a bit of food I went to try some surfing again, there were few waves and even the good guys didn't catch many. So back to shore I went to help Do continue with her fitness regime. This time she wanted to run up the steps - 176 steep steps to the top. ...

... It was great fun. But, that paddling back out to where Jonathan waited for us in the surf was hard work and certainly strained muscles that I didn't know I had! After a bit of a rest we tried again, this time without Johnathan's help. It turned out that him choosing the right wave and giving us a helpful push was essential for us beginner surfers. ... the surfing fraternity. From then on it slowly grew out into a well established tourist spot popular more with Brazilian tourists than with international travellers. Even though hundreds of pousadas have grown up like mushrooms out of the dunes along with touristy shops, bars and restuarants, it has managed to retain a lot of its old charm and feel. There is one main street in Pipa which, unlike Bonito's tourist trap, had a lovely feel to it. Pipa is ...

... no one there. It must have been about 5.30 when we walked back to our hostels. The next day was Saturday 21st. I was moving hostels to one by the love beach. It had air conditioning and it had breakfast included. It was a miserable day with loads of rain. I packed up slowly and then trekked along to my new place. I had plans to meet Rosario and Juan to watch the sunset on a cliff in Pipa. I had a very lazy day as the weather was rubbish. I got into bed and rested. ...
