Last brief entry, just to say we are safely back home, arriving yesterday with Sue picking us up at Manchester airport.<br><br>We've had a fantastic trip - very memorable! Thank you for following our trip. Hope it hasn't been boring, certainly hasn't for us.

Well I am happy to report that despite postal strikes I have my passport back and a multiple entry visa stamp inside.<br>I was so relieved to have the passport back.I really do not like to be parted from it.<br>All I have to do now is get through the next 4 weeks at work.Oh well I am sure I will manage.<br>Bye for now.

... that our week here is over. We are leaving tomorrow for London on a bus at 8:45! Staying here has been an amazing experience and I am forever grateful to the Dutton's for taking us in and being such amazing people! Fireworks are still sold over the counter here in the UK, so on midnight not only was there the fireworks from London shown on the TV, but outside there were skyrockets and fireworks going off everywhere. Standing out front, the sky was ablaze with color and the rumbling noise of crackers going off in every direction was just brilliant. It sounded like the army was advancing ...

... Before too long it is lunchtime and there are many guests invited to share a meal and a chat before we have to leave. Susan brings around some old photo albums that were her Mum's, my Aunt Rose that includes many old photos's of my Mum amongst others. Won't say anymore now and will let the photo's do all the talking; however you can imagine the emotion running through me as I see my Mum as I have never seen her before. Well, it's all over. My year of travel is gone. I'm absolutely devasted, but all good things have to come to an end at some stage. Arrived in Heathrow, and faced the prospect of waiting around for my internal flight to Manchester - a nice 6 hours. Didn't manage to get any sleep on the flight from NY, although my eye mask and ear plugs were great - highly recommend these for flying. So sitting in Heathrow I felt a bit rough and defo worse for wear. And it was so strange ...

Well it was coming to the end of the year and I had a couple of days holiday that I had to take before the end of September, with my birthday next month I headed off on a little bit of a road trip to save some money and headed north to the Lakes District to see what it had to offer. So I grabbed a car from City airport and drove north as far as I could tonight....which got me to Warrington. found a cheap hotel to crash for an early night before hitting the road again tomorrow.
