Historical Traveler Reviews De Vere Village Bournemouth
This is an amazing hotel. Almost a destination in itself. You really need not leave the property. If you have kids, this is the place to stay. We went here for our honeymoon and had them add on the celebration package. They had the champagne, strawberries, chocolates, and robes waiting in our room upon arrival. The rooms are huge and well appointed with fans and air conditioners. The beds are so soft with very nice duvets and pillows. The drive is a little far to the beach and downtown , but after seeing some of the other hotels that are closer, I would rather stay here and drive the distance. This place is amazing. The food was incredible from Salingers. The pub was alot of fun. So many choices. The staff was very helpful and kind. For the money was a really good deal. I would not hesitate to stay here again.
Village Hotel Bournemouth
Stayed with my husband in this hotel for 2 nights, the hotel is very nice except our room was next to a flat roof and had an air con unit it in and a fan that didn't blow and still the room was unbearably hot. The food was nice, we stayed on a db&b rate which was reasonably priced. Would go again but would ask for a room not near the flat roof again!
We arrived at the Village on Tuesday 15th August for a much needed three night short break.
Myself and my partner fancied a break from London and decided to head to the coast. We could not have picked a better location as far as we're concerned. The hotel was spotless, the staff are friendly and very helpful and the use of the leisure club was included in the price of our room, as was breakfast too. The best thing for us had to be our meal at one of the three restaurants on site, called Salingers. Every course was perfect and the price was very reasonable. You couldn't ask for anything more in a hotel at a very reasonable price. You're only a 10 minute drive from the beach and shopping centre and if you needed any essentials, there is a Tesco within walking distance. JUST GO THERE!!! My only grievance is I had to go back to work after my stay.
What can I say! This is an absolute wonderfull hotel and leisure centre.
Good value for money
We only stayed here for one night but it was a lovely stay. The hotel is new and decor is of a good standard. The standard room was spacious and nicley decorated. We had a look at the leisure club and swimming pool and they looked fantastic, if we were staying an extra night then we would have used these facilities.
Breakfast here was of a good standard and the hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. The location of this hotel isnt in the heart of Bournemouth, it is opposite the hospital, this wasnt an issue for us. It only took us 5 - 10 minutes to drive to the town centre and beach.
We would stay at this hotel again as the facilities were excellent and it was great value for money.
We recently enjoyed a two night stay at this hotel. Being a new hotel everything is clean and new. The staff are friendly, efficient and only to happy to help except when you check out, then you find you are no longer able to use the hotel facilities. We wanted to have a quick swim before we left the hotel and was told we couldn't because we had checked out. So beware if you want to use the hotel lovely swimming pool or health suite (both very good) on your last day, do so before 11am. The breakfast on Saturday was a bit chaotic. We had to wait for 20 minutes for a table to become available. The dining area is not big enough for the size of hotel. Breakfast was the typical buffet offering although the food was very good they were slow in replenishing. Consequently, something was always missing and no sooner had they replaced the missing item and they would run out of something else. The location of the hotel is disappointing its opposite Bournemouth main hospital and it's about 10 minutes (by car) away from Bournemouth centre/beaches. Would I stay again? If the price is right definitely, otherwise a hotel closer to Bournemouth amenities would be preferable.
I loved this hotel. The rooms were clean, tidy and spacious, even though it was only a standard room. The decor was lovely and the atmosphere was welcoming. There were a lot of business people around who seemed to think they owned the place, but we were staying there during the week so it wasn't surprising. There was a good range of food on offer, although the Village pubs menu wasnt the most varied, the food was great and there was plenty of it. The swimming pool is gorgeous and the health and beauty area was amazing. Would definately stay again.
We stayed here for one night on 13th january. I have nothing but good things to say and would highly recommend it. Lovely and clean. pool, spa etc great. breakfast is ace and the wee pub inside the hotel is really good atmosphere. staff were very friendly. totally relaxed chill out place. loved it !!!!
Great hotel and spa
This hotel had only been opened for 2 weeks when we stayed there, and to our delight there were no signs of teething troubles. The staff were very professional and effecient and the room was immaculate and spacious. Unfortunately we were only there for a night and didn't have chance to use the spa facilities, but they looked fantastic.
