... just before we left, I took around a little 2bob Aussie flag and gave it to him, and I was amazed.... I thought he was going to cry! He was just so excited! About 5 mins later he arrived back at Dulcie, pumped my hand until I thought it would fall off, gave Treas a big hug and kisses on the cheek, more saluting and jabbering, but obviously just thrilled to bits. Well we got here and it was a bit of a disappointment compared to Nice. Much more commercial but the main shopping street wasn't that impressive. The beach was much better but really packed and sooo many boats docked in the bay!

Then we went down to the beach and had an amazing lunch at the Beach Club bar. I had a martini in a really cool glass and Joe had a Jack Daniels! So relaxing.

On the way to the scouted location I passed through the quaint little town of Brue-Auriac, continued North-East along the D560, passed a work crew removing rocks from the road, but then as I passed a small divided road section running north I spied a tiny little four-wheel-drive track on the opposite side, with a "no left turn" sign on it's exit. ... relaxed 2 hour French lunch with wine and coffee!) And then we were back on the same ferry that we were on just barely 5 days ago...seemed like a lifetime away.

The girls had to catch a train to Brussels that weekend so Pierre had to leave quickly. Didn't really get a chance to say goodbye to everyone properly but I guess I would see most of them on Monday. The guys from Cornel I was a bit more disappointed but who knows, maybe I'll bump into them ...

... trying to look all around for footballers, film stars and the like but couldn't see any! We were able to get a great view of the port from the top of Monte Carlo and could see some Super-Yachts, you know the type with jet ski's and helicopter pads. As we were looking at the boats I saw a Ferrari shoot past under the hotel and was reminded that we were right next to the circuit they use for the F1 ...
