Was up in time to get some fabulous photos of the sunrise against the Sawtooth Mountains. There was frost on the picnic table, a mist on the water and a full moon still in the sky. Gorgeous! Then I braced myself for Galena Pass at 8701'. Approach seemed very casual but ...

Summary

Drove 60 miles in 1.5 hours.

Highlights

It was a beauitiful drive through the Sawtooth Mts south to Sun Valley. The entire journey, largely downhill, was full of captivating views of the snow capped mountain range.

Arriving at the town of Ketchum around lunch time we took a stroll and found a very cool ski town. It didn't seem like a "make believe" town as there was some fantastic history, a hint of celebrity and 64 ...

He went on (and on..) to explain that Sun Valley is hosting ...

Even better, Carol and Sophie made a carrot ginger juice for Amy who was craving good vegetables. The four of us headed into the town of Ketchum, and David and the kids bought a day pass to the Y and played at the pool that had a 130' water slide, a vortex pool, and ...

Salt Lake

We woke up in Salt Lake City and found an amazing and overwhelming breakfast at The Pig and the Jelly Jar. Waffles for the kids, pork belly and kale creole benedict for Amy, and chicken and waffles for David. Then there was some hotel swimming, laundry, and much-needed showers. We explored Temple Square a little bit, but didn't need to stay long. Our best find in SLC was RubySnap, a cookie shop with about 15 different kinds of cookies to swoon ...
