We arrived in St. Maarten excited for a break. Unfortunately due to space and our size we had to dock in Philipsburg where the cruise ships stay as opposed to another part of the island where it is a bit less touristy and has more yachts. We also feared that we were heading in completely the opposite direction to where we had asked to go. Our reason for wanting to go to Maho beach was because this beach is very close to the airport and St. Maarten is famous for the planes which swoop only thirty feet above the beach as they come in to land.
