Well the day started with us having to carefully plan our trip up to central London, because December 26th is actually a holiday in England… it's boxing day!! So the tube stations didn't open until a little later. After a bit of a struggle, we figured it out and arrived at the St. Giles hotel to get a set of our tickets from the front desk (where the guy we bought them for left them).

Next door, we should be able to see Strawberry Hill, a neo-Gothic creation which has attracted some ridicule over the years. We had a wonderful trip away and can't believe how many places we visited ...

... years of stored up cricketing wisdom that has found a useless home in my brain....all came flooding out in a torrent of wonderment to all other tour goers! Michael even offered his tour guides jacket to me out of sheer awe....hahahaha! At the conclusion of the tour we went into the gift shop and bought the obligatory souvenirs then into the Lord's Tavern for a pint and a bit of lunch. After lunch Tim and I went and sat in the stand to watch some of the match in progress while ...

... open sandwich and glass of chilled champagne for £10 each. Very tempted to have a second glass, but set off for home instead with a mountain of new gear, almost all of it for me! A second visit is planned for Monday. Around 5.00pm, Lisa, Amy and I set off to The Mitre, a pub in Notting Hill, to watch the FA Cup Final. It ...
