... and we made it to flat ground. We did get to see a parade of horses on the way back. There was a rodeo going on in this town but it is common for the locals to ride in or something like that.

I have to tell you I am looking a pigeon right now that is missing all of his toes and just has stumps. Kinda interesting to see it walking around.

... streets. The old town is closed to cars making it even quainter & it is full of interetsing shops, bars & restaurants. A delight to while away a day or two. On this visit I also took a trip out to the picturesque marina to check out all the boat & enjoy a beer in the sunshine

We´re staying in Paraty which is a really pretty little colonial town...cobbledy streets and surrounded by beautiful beaches!! Just on our way back to camp to get our dinner. Have been here 3 days so off on the road again tomorrow.

One of Rio's getaways with dozens of boats taking tourists to all the secluded, beautiful beach islands in the area. After a long day of bus travel, on my way to the hotel, I tripped over a bicycle rack and landed right on top of the thing which put a major damper on the rest of the week as I recovered from pretty serious bruising and a black eye, and quite a few days of very slow walking and taking it easy.
