... in the area, so after a bit of driving around, we just went back to the taqueria we went to the night before. Had tacos of chicken, tacos of beef, and we even tried a taco of cow eye. It was good! Drowned it all with beer and horchata, Mark’s favourite drink (like rice water).

... we deserved going to the carnaval parade. It was the last night of carnaval and usually the last night is the best night of all. Lionel, Cat and Emilie also came with us and as expected the main road where the parade was, was crowded like hell. It was almost not possible to get through the crowd, but we had to go to a certain spot where we kind of wanted to meet with Evaristo. ... while Gwagwa was in the bathroom. He said he remembered me from the other night and we just chatted for a while, he was cool.
Continuing on down the coast to our beach, we unfortunately didn't encounter any more sun. Instead it actually rained a little bit, yuck! But it was still absolute perfection to sit in the car and watch and listen to the waves. Definitely the best Christmas I can remember for a long time!

... back...we walked. I think our tour guide said it was about 2 miles. So many folks walked up the steep steps to the alter where sacrifices we made, but we didn’t...Richard’s foot was bothering him he was limping and I knew I’d have to be rescued by a helicopter or something. We did get some good pictures though.

... There are lots of souvenir shops with a lot of the usual tat but some nice jewellery shops with vast selections of diamonds which I was swiftly directed away from. We had lunch overlooking the ocean at a place called Jeanie's. Not the best food ever but it was nice just for the view and pina coladas. I really want to hire a convertible jeep to drive around the island so may do that when Mark and Efrosini arrive later in the week. Tomorrow I think we will head to the ...
