    Day 6 -
We awoke to glorious sunshine, very glad yesterday's weather was only a blip. With Craig still a little delicate, and our general desire to be lazy, we spent the whole day by the pool reading our books. I have a list of activities for Copacabana so I decide to experience a different side of Carnaval. Ipanema has a bloco early. Fun but packed. The streets along the ocean have been shut down and totally full. After the bloco, there are a few bands. Seeking ...

... I think our directions to our hostel were misunderstood, and he decided to take us to a hotel that he knew, insisting that we tell him our room number so that he could meet us later to take us on the remainder of the tour. We were having none of it, and the concierge kindly threw him off our trail. The cab that took us the 3 blocks to our hostel then tried to charge us 20 Reis...but after a bit of negotiating ...
