... lit up, everything lit up, and huge crashes of thunder rolled over us as the rain beat down. The tent did its best, even with us inside, to lift off its pegs. I've never been in a tent under such a storm. It was fantastic. After about another hour of crashing, banging and funky light shows, and with no signs of the storm abating, we both snuggled up to sleep, earplugs muffling the worst of the apocalypse...which, let's face it, is no worse than either of our ...

I'm currently sitting in the shade of the car on a campsite 20 miles outside Lienz, Austria, having had undoubtedly the greatest driving day of my life. A few thousand feet of lush green mountain, as manicured as any golf course, is staring down at me, incredibly steep-sided and forested on top. Renato sent me and Ben up ahead while he roped Ellie and Steph onto his safety rope. The climb was an hour of ...

... An hour later the awning was complete with fairy lights, table - with table cloth, candles etc. We then sat very proudly in the awning as the sun set and people walked by and admired our lighting- thanks Kala! Today (Tuesday) we decided to go for a walk along to the next village Canazei. This is a huge ski area in the winter and it's weird seeing all the ski lifts in the summer. We had a lovely walk for about an hour or so through the ...

We left Camping Ampersee at 9:00 and headed down the Autobahn into Munich, along with every other car in Germany!! Yes of course there were some more roadworks just to slow things down a little more. Then to finally put the nail in the coffin of the myth of German efficiency the two major Autobahns that we need to drive on are linked by using a central highway through the metropolis of Munich. Traffic lights, junctions, shops, schools... ...
