... road again, heading for Dumaguette. I made it as far as Iloilo, capital of Panay. I got a room in an actual hotel. The formality feels odd after hostels and guesthouses. I had a strange meal in an American style diner last night. Quite surreal, and the weirdest tasting burger I think I have ever had. I think I'll stick with Filipino food. The travelling yesterday was quite ...

job how they do. I’m sure the nurses are caring, it’s just not within their
practice to focus on the more hands on care. It is the job of the families, ‘the
folk’ as they call it. I understand that there are about 2 nurses to around 20

holiday, it's not touristy there yet which was great. A lot of people were from Manila, the capital. It turns out the photo
    taking didn't stop ...

... had gone out of their way to
prepare it for us. During our house introduction and hospital introduction food was a
massive part, the staff at both have said ‘give up watching your figure girls,
you’re in the Philippines now!’, I mean that’s great and everything but I
wasn’t planning on returning home having gone up about 3 dress sizes! I’ve
learnt to be super careful when crossing the roads as there are clearly ...

... Yay! And this was my introduction to Boracay.

Ok so not the most positive beginning to a blog post but these were my thoughts and I guess this is part of discovering new places. Not everything lives up to the hype and your perception of a place can be drastically skewed depending on where your head is at. Now things did pick up. The next day I headed to New Wave Divers where I had arranged to do my 4 open water dives to complete my ...
