After catching a car ferry to Korcula Island we drove the length of it to our place on the edge of the ocean.


We have the top floor overlooking a little inlet with the bluest of blue water and small fishing boats dotted around. So perfect.

Hvar is an island located in the Dalmatian region. We went to Hvar by ferry. We ate lunch and I tried grilled Octopus for the first time, I didn't really like it but ate it anyway. After lunch we went to the beach and had a swim and skipped rocks, my best skip is six or ten. Most of the beaches in Croatia have rocks. This means that I can't play any sport.

... city of Korcula, a fortress by the the sea, and had lunch in an idyllic setting atop the walls. We were directly across the water from our next port-of-call, Orevic, and Dick commented that this was probably the loveliest place he'd ever had lunch in. We watched below as local boats arrived n left, cruise ships, yachts n ferries sailed by n the clear-as-glass, sparkling aqua sea churned below us. So much for peace, as I began to worry ...

... the lakes with the teaming hordes. This is certainly cruise ship territory.
We can see a small cruise ship anchored within walking distance of our apartment here in Korcula. Consequently the old town was overrun yesterday. Within walking distance we have a bar where 2 amazing guitarists and vocalists perform each night. Guess what we've been doing each night AND WE HAVE THE CD!
We haven't swum here yet but ...

We left Hvar at 6am and sailed to our swim stop , just outside Vela Luka.

After lunch after docking , we headed off by coach for an afternoon of sightseeing. First stop was the oil mill of Uljara Zloki, His family has been making olive oil here for centuries.
