After catching a car ferry to Korcula Island we drove the length of it to our place on the edge of the ocean.


Wow!


We have the top floor overlooking a little inlet with the bluest of blue water and small fishing boats dotted around. So perfect.


The stone steps lead down to our own private, stony outcrop for sunbaking, swimming ...

... city of Korcula, a fortress by the the sea, and had lunch in an idyllic setting atop the walls. We were directly across the water from our next port-of-call, Orevic, and Dick commented that this was probably the loveliest place he'd ever had lunch in. We watched below as local boats arrived n left, cruise ships, yachts n ferries sailed by n the clear-as-glass, sparkling aqua sea churned below us. So much for peace, as I began to worry ...

... Et c'était une très bonne chose parce que l'auberge est haut sur une colline surplombant la ville; sans carte et sous la pluie ça aurait été pénible d'y monter! Et puis ensuite ils n'avaient pas de chambre double prête alors nous avons eu un petit appartement pour nous, avec vue sur mer. Vous pouvez être jaloux. :)

Le lendemain encore la chance nous a suivis, puisque la pluie nous a enfin épargnés, et nous avons même eu quelques jolies ...

We left Hvar at 6am and sailed to our swim stop , just outside Vela Luka.

After lunch after docking , we headed off by coach for an afternoon of sightseeing. First stop was the oil mill of Uljara Zloki, His family has been making olive oil here for centuries. ... the top you have to climb a ladder (which was funny for all the girls in dresses), then they send up the cocktails via a pulley system which is pretty cool. Afterwards we spent quite a while trying to find a place for dinner and ended up at a pizza place where Joe and I shared a seafood pizza that was really yum!
