Our free day in Antalya, yeah! We got up and had a relatively leisurely breakfast for us, 8am. After a bit of organising we headed off to explore the old city of Antalya which is about a 10 minute walk from our hotel. ... took us through several sets of mountains and quite a bit of snow. The village we stopped to have lunch in had snow on the ground. The cafe was basically a tent but it had a heater inside it. Victoria and I shared a dish called sacurva (pron. satchiva). It is a delicious concoction of lamb pieces which are served on a sizzling dish over a small fire. ... or something!! I walked down the road away from the salon and tried to comb it straight. Then I put my sunnies on and was so glad I wouldn't be bumping into anyone I knew! Another good laugh and story! The guy was actually an ok cutter, it was just the mousse, trying to make it curly, cutting it too short and the lack of a common language. It cost me the grand sum of $15!!!!
... non stop on his two mobile phones, in between drinking tea, eating, smoking and talking to people on the bus. At one stage he had no hands on the wheel! He came close to having a punch-up with another man at a cafe stop and seemed even more rattled and erratic after that. It didn't help that we had front row seats and could see it all. We both fell sleep in the end which was probably just as well!
