... while. The GPS has worked pretty well but got its knickers in a twist over the one way system in Bracciano, which is where we became separated.
We finished the day in the charming hilltop town of Montefiascone - the only thing not quite so charming was the climb up to the place - the clue is in the name! At least the first bit tomorrow will be downhill!
We have managed 113km today which is a bit less than our target but not too bad. We should settle into things after a few ...

The next day was a city wide fair market with all kinds ...

It was overcast and raining when we visited but what sun there was lit up the gold mosaics that form the artwork and images. The construction of the cathedral lasted about 3 centuries and is built in the Gothic style. Unusually, the brickwork behind the façade is layered black and white blocks and almost seems as if it should to belong to something else. ...

Tonight and for the rest of the nights this week there are the festivities of Santa Rosa. On Thursday 60 men are going to carry a massive, 7 story "machine" around the city. Tonight they had the mini Machina where a bunch of kids carry a smaller machine, still very large. There were so many people out even though it was pretty cold and blustery outside. The cities lights were all turned off and the machine was lit up, it was very beautiful. I can't wait for them ...
