We arrived a little before 1:00 p.m. today. This is the first time the World has been to Cagliari and we were greeted by musicians and dancing along with a tasting of local drinks such as Mirto a strong sweet red wine and limoncello. ... first time since arriving in Sardinia that we heard English, but it's not really surprising considering it is the biggest city on the island.

The plan for tomorrow is a short flight to Milan, followed by a train ride to Trieste in northeastern Italy. Let's hope this train journey works out better than the last one.

Last night we stopped in Nuoro, not the most interesting or exciting of places but it worked out well itinerary-wise.

It's a town a bit smaller than Bundaberg with around 35,000 people and only one taxi. Luckily we don't mind taking off on foot when we have stopped for the night. Wherever we have been we have also been used to seeing 'ristorante pizzeria' signs absolutely everywhere. And usually when we only wanted a cafe to get a coffee or a cold drink. In fact, ...

The views were amazing, beaches beautiful and our walk around the ancient citadel provided insight into it's cathedral, churches, palaces and residences of Catalan and Jewish merchants and bankers.
