Noto, bene!

We woke up a little earlier today to make the hour long trip to Noto, famous for its Baroque architecture, almonds and the gelateria that purportedly makes the best ice-cream in the world! I have to bribe the girls with either the promise of shopping or something nice to eat if I expect them to traipse through Duomo after Duomo, or climb unendingly steep hills in search of castles and mosaics. I cunningly kept the address of Gelateria Costanza until the end of our visit, ...

After a very lazy day spent snoozing and adapting to our new surroundings, we went down to the same beach bar to watch so that Paolo and Nuka could watch the football. Nuka is still very itchy and crabby but her rash is a bit better than yesterday. We finished our granite limone and Lia and I went down to play on the beach.

After 2 days of once daily, 1 day of twice daily, by Friday we were up to 3 pills, which resulted in Nuka falling asleep upright or ...

... Very nice, and visited a cheese, chocolate and wine shop with tastings of the produce. Carol loved the chocolate and the bread with olive oil. Phillip loved it all. At about 6.15 we arrived at the hotel. It is very classy and out of town and surrounded by farms. After a lovely shower we went to dinner with the group. Another spectacular and most enjoyable day seeing new things. We are very glad that we have come to ...

Ragusa - Exploring in the Shadows

... for top things to see and do but none of these things I saw were listed anywhere! Once again, I'm lucky!

We walked all the way to the New City which is the best spot to have the quintessential panoramic view of Ragusa Ibla that is common on postcards.

On the way back to Ragusa Ibla (Old Town) we bumped into Greg, an American in his late 50s who'd travelled to 106 countries. I asked him to join us on our way to a pub to watch ...
