... golden colored sandstone. The monumental churches and municipal buildings are simply stunning in the late afternoon light. After admiring the main buildings and piazzas we wandered away from the main center and found a little wine bar where we enjoyed a few glasses, some antipasti and conversation with a young British couple spending there last night in Sicily. So sad.

... come back in an hour or so to get one for ourselves. We made it about 40 meters before we both simultaneously realized that it would be too risky to wait (we'd been burned by midday siesta closures already) so we went strait back and got in line. Got our sandwich, bought a bottle of wine and took it back to the rooftop terrace of our B&B for lunch. Fantastic.
