... inside is a double helix designed by davinci so that francois the premier could have his mistress go down one staircase while the next is going up. dude was big pimpin apparently.
next was cheverny, which people actually still live in. crazy. the inside was the most elaborately decorated. loved it. the woman who lived there had her wedding dress on display too, not so impressive though. i realize she was married in the 90's, a fashion dark age ...

quick visit

Just paid a fleeting visit to St Tropez on the way to Avignon (so we thought)... had to be done really.. a quick wander around and a very quick coffee. It was much smaller than I thought. Lots of nice boats but loads of tourists too.... that was about it!

What a nice surprise

... handstands and all the rest.... spend hours cleaning the sand out of our bags and clothes! The next day was a stunning 26 degree day.. so so so nice. We never thought we would be at the beach again. Were tempted to stay but found out the next 2 days were not going to be great weather. Sadly we headed off at 4pm to head to Avignon.. Saying goodbye to the med forever was very hard.. and sad....

A quick visit to Port Grimaud.

We also took the short drive to Port Grimaud, to visit this small but new harbour town built in what was once marshland, but is now row after row of condos and homes built in a web of jetties to allow the homes to anchor their boats at their doorsteps. Of course, we would have rather spend our time on the beach, but with bad weather, Grimaud was a nice alternative.

Cloudy and Windy St. Tropez

The Yacht arrived in the Vieux Port around 8:00 AM on Tuesday. The seas were a little rough on the way in and there was a lot of wind, but overall the passage was uneventful. We spent the night in Marseille and in the morning we drove to meet the yacht in St. Tropez and arrive close to 11 AM. We just pulled up to the yacht and hardly even boarded until ...

Living in Nice

... the Riviera mostly because right now is as cold as the Riviera gets. It is still sunny outside but quite chilly, similar weather to that of Lafayette right now. However, there is very little rain. I work about 6 days a week at the reception of the hostel and then I work bar once or twice a week as well. I have gotten in to quite a little routine. The other staff start to feel a little bit like family since the majority of us are here alone and ...

St. Raphael

... a cheap dinner of Donner Kabbop. Not much beating a cheap Donner. After dinner we went out for a couple of beers and again, good things just happened. We went to the casino and played a crazy game called Boule which is similar to roulette but with a big rubber ball and only 9 numbers. We both won, which instantly made a good night. Then we went out for a couple of more drinks and were just people watching when a hot French women comes up and asks ...

The French Riviera - Antibes, Nice, Cannes, Monaco

... with money, but Krissy and I did not stay on the beach for the day as you can imagine. Cannes is definetly for the few elite people. Mabye ill go back in a few years after im a millionaire hahahahha. The next day we went to Monnaco and Nice. Monaco was amazing. Even more exclusive and luxurious than Cannes. This is where the famous Monte Carlo Grand Prix is and ofcourse the Monte Carlo Casino. I was wearing short ...
