    The day started promising enough as it was very mild but also early so we weren't sure if the rain was coming or the clouds just hadn't lifted. Unfortunately it was the former because not long after we left the hotel for boat ride to the glass blowing factory, the rain started to fall. Had a tour of the amazing Murano building and watched a professional blow glass and make a horse standing on its two back legs in about 2 minutes flat. ...

    ... girls. The bus dropped us off at the last point of where vehicles are allowed in Venice. (Side Note:I was surprised at how rural the Venice airport was. There was lots of green space and open land. Clearly, Venice is not like that at all. I expected the whole area to be super built up.)

This is an old wooden bridge that spans the Grand Canal and takes you to the Academia which at the moment has an exhibition of Leonardo da Vinci's original sketches. It's amazing seeing his sketches: they are his rough ideas that he then used in his work. It's interesting to see how he kept refining and developing his ideas. It was really amazing ...
