After brekkie it was onto Menton which is a lovely little town just before the Italian border. Menton is a much more down to earth place than its neighbours and more our scene. We found a park right on the beach and went for a wander and took in sum much needed sun. Next stop Italia!!
Menton, Provence, France darrenhough74... and not campervan parking friendly. We found a picture perfect stop just after Monte Carlo at the top of a hill overlooking the Med. We had the place to ourselves so we russelled up some brekkie in the sun which was lovely, so much so we were in t-shirts!!!
Monte-Carlo, Monaco darrenhough74Gorgeous morning and a stunning place for breakfast awaited us just outside Scooby overlooking the lake. I went for a run but Kim was feeling a little under the weather so she stayed and made me breakfast - yay! We spotted two girls about our age and attempted to engage in some conversation but their English was limited and French is rubbish. Shame as its manily been the grey hair brigade we ...
Grasse, Provence, France darrenhough74Cannes is not as glamrous as we thought it would be, it still has all the fancy smancy stores along the beach, but there were definitely no red carpets rolled out when we were there. We did a day trip to St-Tropez, its was the end of a hge sailing competitiona and tons of ...
Cannes, Provence, France sofenjon... first day in Nice was spent on the beach, we couldn't wait to go into the ocean, that we went swimming without towels. Wasn't a good idea since Nice is all rock beaches and we couldn't really sit to dry off... WE had a delicous pasta dinner at Pasta Basta and ordered the finest wine on ...
Nice, Provence, France sofenjon... Canadian Prairies to immigrant Ukrainian parents, who's now raised a family of her own, continues to value and be proud of her Ukrainian heritage! So, today, Elsie becomes Lesia, that beautiful Ukrainian Princess! And could there be a more appropriate location than Monaco! For those who may not be aware, the name Elsie translates to Lesia in Ukrainian.

So, the Ruby Princess takes Princess Lesia to ...
Monte-Carlo, Monaco ricknelsie... the whole town was having a fishing festival, dedicated to St Peter, the patron saint of fishermen, and we were rewarded with a bit of folklore in the form of traditional dancing and music. We were by now very thirsty and (with some difficulty - it was very busy) finally found a shady table at a restaurant-bar. Here at last, the mystery of the 12 noon / 1.30pm mixed messages about the Tour was unfolded. As 12 noon approached, a massive ...
Cagnes-sur-Mer, Provence, France saracengill... noise and people on all sides. The Monaco I saw from the rail of the ship looked to be no different. This is THE Monte Carlo, casino extraordinaire with a gazillion hotels, apartments and highrises as far as the eye could see. It goes around the ship in a square so there was much to see from all sides. Some of the original architecture looked very beautiful, but it ...
Monte Carlo, Monaco tlbuster... of town.... so far that we couldnt travel in by ourselves on public transport and unable to be taken by the tour driver because apparently they are restrcited tightly with their driving hours and everything is microchipped and tracked whilst they drive..... Whinging aside.... we spent a ngiht at the monte carlo casino.... we didnt bother paying to go in..... we had an hour to get dinner and sight see due to hotel dramas above mentioned. So instead we ...
Nice, France jessica.earley... had to be worth over 10 million each, if not more to actually moor them there! .. the food we had for lunch was fairly cheap, 8 euro for a pizza and 4 euro for a 1664 beer, so that was suprising. Tonight we are just going to chill back in Nice before heading to Barcelona and Spain tomorrow night. Not long now before out adventure to Japan! Tk it ezy!
