... Balsa tree (balsa wood), and the fruit is deadly and cannot be eaten. The waterway narrowed and we negotiated around fallen trees, passing cottages built close to the banks. Under a couple of bridges, then the waterway opened up again and the flow rate began to increase. We passed groves of cinnamon trees that could be made out through the scrub at the rivers edge. ... Sri Lankan patients who are suffering from post traumatic stress disorder and other anxiety disorders. We were encouraged to share upsetting memories by directing the other members of the group to act it out. This was so emotional for all of us and we were crying so much by the end! The first day where we just chilled out. We've only been away for a week but we've travelled and seen so much it feels a lot longer. It's obviously all fantastic but I was glad of a quiet day with no plans. We had breakfast then went down to the beach. There was nothing more to see inside of the Fort so the tuk-tuk driver suggested that we could go to the New Town. We agreed. He took us to a couple of markets (green market, spice market). Before he dropped us off in front of the railway station he let us have a look at a very colorful Hindu temple.
