Today was our last full day in Venice and Italy. The Weather was perfect. We have been so lucky. Everything in fact has been perfect , great. We started the day with breakfast. Next on the agenda was to see the view of Venice from the top of st marks campanile (bells). It was a lift ride up. We were a little bit disappointed as we thought it was steps to the top. ... a top a hill and point of land above the ocean. It was 1 euro each well spent to visit the church and a small public viewing area of the 1st and 2nd century Roman ruin below. The church depictions were of St George slaying the dragon. 96%25 of Slovenians are catholic. On the highest part of the surrounding land was the "town walls" with turrets. ... think most of them either work with us on a day to day basis or try not too. Even the school kids just push on and off as if the interlopers are encroaching into their private world. I loved it.
