We arrived to Balaton at Sep. 14 afternoon. Quickly found the villa. The house was huge with many nice facilities - billiard, pool (we didn't use it because it was a little bit cold for swimming), tennis, football playground, barbecue corner, big kitchen, nice rooms, big garden.
Shablin family join us at the same day at the night.
What a luxury, woke up and rolled out of a real bed, not needing to fold it away before reaching the bathroom. Followed by a buffet breakfast with no other than real bacon! Oh the travelling joys... Checked out of the hotel, but stayed lounging by the pool and health spa all day making sure we got our ...
... and an old lady gives us a peach each when we explain that we don't want a whole bag. They are delicious.
With time for a beer at the lake before returning the bikes, we then head down to swim in the lake. Cooler than we were expecting, we are pleased to have been in anyway. And I am pleased that I did come here after all.
Once again, we eat the meal the hostel cooks for us but it's a quiet night ...
Balatonfured the capital of the lake towns and we arrived on a long weekend and spoilt for choice on where to go. Traffic was crazy as locals headed out of Budapest.

... dawn. Town is asleep until after noon with some people still wandering home. Its hosts Balaton sound (electronic music festival http://nagyonbalaton.hu/balatonvilagos/ ) each year which was on when we were here. Probably the closet equiv to Ibiza but a lot more affordable and with lots of children activities for families. They have tried to make the shoreline like a beach and they have done a good job of it.
