... the gyros. We used a BBQ grill since there's was no way we could do the whole meat hanging vertically thing. Go to the end of this entry to see how we did it.
After lunch, we walked over to take a quick look at the Church of a Hundred Doors. We weren't dressed appropriately, so we just peeked in.

... are still many columns as well as some interesting mosaics. Even with what remains, there is enough to get a good idea of what the island would have been like in its heyday. The best know sculptures on the island are a row of lions.
We anchored within the Bay of Delos and returned in the afternoon for lunch aboard. After we finished exploring the island, we boarded the yacht and returned to Mykonos for the evening. We went to shore and found a ...
... beautiful place with the village full of white-washed buildings scattered around a maze of little streets and alley ways. Just at it seemed that Santorini was made for couples, Mykonos was make for singles and the party life. This is one place that I want to return to again.
... tomorrow. The awesome thing is that tomorrow is the official torch lighting ceremony in Olympia for the winter games in Canada. I have no idea if I'll be able to get to see it but I'm going to try to at least experience some part of it. You don't often get chances like that in life. For every Olympic games since way back to the original games, the torch is lit in this same stadium. And now, of course, that flame gets passed from torch to torch to torch all around the ...

Apparently, there were only a few taxi's on the island and one wonders why anyone would take one when two large cruise ships were in town. You see, not only was our ship, the Ruby Princess, carrying 3,100 passengers in port but the Celebrity cruise ship was also in port. There were so many people around the port area that taxi's virtually couldn't move more than a few inches a minute. Hope ...
... the night away. Taking a breather for some fresh air we were sitting outside when she began to admire my necklaces. Getting to meet her had made my stay in Paros and my whole holiday in Greece for that matter. It seemed appropriate for me to give her one of my necklaces as a memento of me and our time together. In return she gave me one of her rings. I'm not exactly sure but it's some kind of glass but whatever it is I will treasure it always. By the end of the night ...

The smell on the boat is wonderful and our salads are delightfully fragrant. On Sunday night the charter boats started appearing again but, as getting here requires higher skill levels, they all moored up very skilfully. On Monday we left at 7.00 for Finikas and Ermoupolis on the Island of Siros of which more anon.
Ermoupolis, Greece chickensafloat... weather. Yesterday, Katie and I dragged our butts to the only kind of restaurant that Katie felt she could trust, the Hard Rock Cafe. We had a huge and very long lunch there, and it was delicious! After that, we walked around and did some shopping and went to the National Archaeological Museum. We were both pretty tired and lethargic, so we called it a night pretty early after the museum closed and we returned to our hostel. This morning, I woke up and the meal from ...
Athens, Greece mcewenmckenna... offered to share it with Ronald. He gladly accepted the bottle into his hand, which between the grin on his face and the angle, made for a nice shot. I'll try to post it when I can. I'm easily amused. We arrived on Mykonos around 10:30 PM, and began to look for our hostel - Andriani's Guest House. It wasn't on our map and we didn't have an address. All we had was a name, and the fact that it was located over the School of Fine Arts ...
Mykonos, Greece saginaw94How on Earth did I get to be so lucky?
My family and I went on a cruise of the Greek Islands. We ate a lot, got sea sick once, soaked up the sun, and absorbed the classically beautiful white and blue colours on the islands. There weren't very much ship activities that my sister and I were interested in but Allyson and I did win a bingo game! Mykonos was by far our favorite island because of its beauty.
