After another hearty breakfast we caught the 9.40am tourist ferry. This ferry takes you all around Lake Como to the most picturesque villages we have ever seen. Even our photos do not do it justice. This morning we travelled by train from Milan to Como where we then caught a taxi to Bellagio. The taxi drive took 45 minutes and was on a very narrow, winding road so a bit hair raising at times. Did some long awaited clothes washing this morning before heading off to explore the local region which is in the Marche region about 2 hours south of Belogna and about 3 hours from both Rome and Florence. Worse was to como (sorry) we set off in the car and were immediately cocooned (no, that's the wrong word) surrounded doesn't do it justice either, by a maze of tunnels where Tom Tom lost his signal, we would emerge, be given a new direction and back into Dante's Inferno of underground horrors once more.
