Month 2 travel plans turned out quite differently than I originally anticipated. Before I departed I had no inention of heading to France, told myself I would visit another time. Well that thought was thrown completely out the window. I ended up spending a little over two weeks in France and enjoyed every moment. One of the highlights of the trip so far was our morning ballooning with Chris and Claire from "Ballooning in Tuscany". We had an early start (5am) to be down at the launch field for 5.40am and then we took off at about 6.30-6.45am on a beautifully sunny morning with fantastic views over the Tuscan countryside - the pictures hopefully do it more justice than any description I can ...

Oct 24, 2014 We checked out of our hotel,...and made the long walk to the train station,....luggage in tow. There we purchased a ticket to Florence, where we would pick up our rental car. Personally I NEVER, EVER rent cars when out of the country,....but Dennis feels comfortable driving,...and I trust his skills. He's transported me all over Italy, and Greece over the years,....so hopefully, we'll be just as lucky this ...

Cortona Thursday 5 September 2013 - weather: absolutely glorious We set off straight after breakfast in search of Bramasole. We headed down Via Nationale through Cortona, through the beautiful park, past the tennis courts and up the most quintessential Tuscan road with huge cypress trees lining it, with magnificent views of the valley and Lake Trasimeno glistening in the distance. Lake Trasimeno is famous for the very bloody battle between Hannibal ...
