... rain started so we ducked into a nearby restaurant for dinner. Thunder and lightening and reasonable rain, but by the time we finished dinner it had basically stopped but we did make a purchase of an umbrella just to be safe. The weather forecast is for heavy showers over the next few days. Really we cannot complain as it has been excellent and sunny the whole time we have been away. And the only times it rained, we have been inside a museum or restaurant and completely avoided ...

... It had a really cool town square and church at the top of the hill. There was a small fountain further down the main street that you are supposed to walk around 3 times for good luck. The boys thought this was pretty cool (I'm sure ...

22 August B very sad today to see the girls downstairs go home. They had been really terrific with her and Flynn. But after the trauma of the departure, the kids got straight back to business - splashing around in the pool. While they were hard at it, I wandered round and got some snaps of the village. It is very beautiful and very lived in but hard to photograph. Too many dark shadows in the narrow little streets. On the way back to the flat, I bumped into Jo and the kids in ...

... in the history I visit the museum, which has many displays of artefacts found in archeological digs dating back to hundreds of years BC from the Etruscan era. I'm surprised as the museum is huge and includes old coins, paintings, remnants of tools and even bones and articles buried with the body, from a set of tombs discovered below the township. It fascinates me thinking about how old these items are, and the history of civilisation here. There are many items that capture ...
