Elm Villa, Tortola, BVI – This place is a fi

... which, at the end of the day, is the highest praise of all.

The Villa does not pop up straight away when searching for a place to rent on Tortola. In fact I found it on the very last day of my search, as I was about to sign up for another place. You can find their direct website at the following link:

http://web.mac.com/alex.ta rn/iWeb/Elm%20Villa.Tortola/Welcome.htm l

My recommendation is to contact the ...

Ah oui! et bien vous n'avez encore rien vu! Faites un effort et appelez! La dame me passe le combiné, je discute avec l'immigration au téléphone et je lui remet l'appareil.... It is always hard to do your packing because you know by then, that you have arrived at the end of your journey.

As the ship continued its due course into darkness, under watchful eyes of the moon and the stars shinning over us, I had fallen into a much needed sleep dreaming of wonderful beaches, exotic islands and fantastic sunsets.

Thankful for dreams.

Mo

Tortola - The "Baths" Virgin Gorda

... The ferry boat dropped everyone off right next to our Caribbean Princess at 4:50pm.

As the ship left the port at 5:00pm that afternoon, I was on my Mini Suite's balcony waving goodbye to the island. Tortola and the BVI's are beautiful small islands where I had a wonderful time and was able to see one of of nature's wonders. It is an island where I would definitely come back in the future.

Thankful for nature's wonders,

Mo

Tortola

... worth it - not only could you see both sides of Tortola but you could also see most of the other British Virgin Islands, including some owned by Ric************ and one up for sale - if anyone's interested it's going for a song... We ended up on Cane Garden Bay beach which was stunning but extremely rough that day so we only got our toes wet. Then headed to the rum distillery - sampled and bought the rum.

Wreck of the Rhone (and almost Wreck of Dutchess)

... the wreck of the Rhone, a 19th C mail ship that went down in a hurricane. We managed to get a working mooring (at least one was missing the line that ties to the vessel.) It was a bit windy, but Paul and the kids went out and enjoyed the wreck. Some of it was too deep to see really well -- but some was quite visible from the surface. We lingered, eating lunch, until the wind really came up -- we decided to go, despite the many whitecaps in the passage. It was ...

... close to us. Kyla and Marin (then Paul) all dove the anchor and declared us home for the night ... only we had a whole bunch (150 feet, I think) of chain out, and had never pulled it straight. Lovely sunset/cocktail hour. Everybody went out to enjoy it on the bow while I got dinner started. Food was tasty, if I do say so myself. After dinner, we just sat around and talked, both in the cockpit and out on the trampoline. A nice first day out.

A week sailing in BVI

... then drove the half hour down to San Jose. Arrived right about 9:35pm. My mom was waiting at curbside, but their bags weren’t out yet (or so we thought). So I went around one more time; upon my return, learned that their bags had come before … but it was only a five minute delay driving around again.

Drove back to SFO and left my parents almost exactly one hour before their flight. Returned to our hotel and found our room. We soon turned off the lights and tried ...

... bay which makes staying on the boat miserable! Unfortunately, it is the best spot for stocking up groceries and getting laundry and things done. Wednesday, October 26, 2005, Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas, USVI, Sean Last night we saw 5 cruise ships. Today we saw a Disney cruise ship. The cruise ships are really, really big! This is a busy rolly bay. It is the main harbour in the US Virgin Islands. They have about 4 or 5 cruise ships here everyday. Some of the people ...
