... Thailand has a similar reputation. Admittedly we didn't expect it to be quite as brash as it was but nevertheless even without participating in the extra-circular activities (before you ask) we had an amazing time. The nightlife was so amazing that we have been back again and it’s where we celebrated Songkran a couple years ago. As we are staying in Bangkok which is only a couple of hours away by coach we had to add it to our itinerary.

... is forming and Thais and foreigners alike pull out cameras and iphones for pictures.

I temporarily abandon my beach chair plans and sit on the beach to listen for a while. They are quite good. Most of the vocals are sung by one guy but, occasionally, it is a duet. I pull out a bottle of water and a slice of pizza bread that I have come to love. I kick back, what's not to like? Solo travel allows plan changing in an instant.

... yet almost seemed like a foreign language to me… so many medical terms that my head almost exploded. I would have just left with a full stomach if I could have. But, the Japanese guy was actually pretty cool and asked me a lot of questions. You can’t beat conversation over four or five awesome home-cooked meals in a row.
