... Once again, nothing fancy, no AC, just fans and open air. There was a mural on the wall of a giant schooner with a beer bottle emptied into it and left in the schooner. It said it's contents were tequila, beer, mother's milk (I'm not sure what that meant) and other goodness. Maro went on to share with us the fact that some one from either Napa or Orange County, I forget which, has successfully drank 12 of these monsters. I ...

Art & Beer is between Cabo San Lucas and Todos Santos. We'd heard some strange things about the place online. Apparently the owner is quite eccentric and has been known to offend many a traveler with his infamous, 'You are so ugly' comments. From what we can tell, just don't ask to come view the art or use the bathroom without gladly spending your $3 minimum - and this ...
Todos Santos, Baja California, Mexico leggesnbaja09After leaving Art & Beer, we drove down a dirt road that headed towards the beach. We first walked along the rocks on the near end of the beach, checking out the tide pools and taking in the huge waves out on the farthest rocks. We then walked the beach some and played with Tanka. "Los Cerritos Beach Club" looks like it might be a fun place, with live music on Saturday and Sunday afternoons. While Tanka dried off, we popped the trunk and ...
Todos Santos, Baja California, Mexico leggesnbaja09 woohoo… Paul coined thes few days, 'vacacion del vacacion'. We drove south hoping to stay in San Jose del Cabo if it worked out. Stopped in the towns of Santiago and Miraflores on the way and took pictures of the sights in these two rural towns. We agreed that either place would be great for an extended stay to see life in a farming community. Both have water access and concentrated areas of palm trees and agriculture.
Then on to San Jose...
We headed to Puntos Lobos (more kudos for our Moon travel book) just south of Todos Santos. Pretty much a stretch of isolated beach with crazy big waves. Dozens of fisherman go in and out of here each day and Paul had read about how they have to time coming in and hit the waves just right… pretty much an art. Most of the boats were in when ...
Todos Santos, Baja California, Mexico leggesnbaja09the internet connection here is flaky at best. who knows if I'll even be able to post this today.. yesterday was a bust! Anyway... Yesterday (12/30) Gina and I decided to catch the bus for the 20 mile trip into Cabo San Lucas, the fabled party town of Baja. As instructed we braved the main road running across four lanes of traffic to a concrete overhang where other "seasoned" tourists had gathered to await the blue/green regional bus that showed up every ...
Cabo San Lucas, Baja California, Mexico seattleman... speakers so its pretty hard to ignore, let alone sleep. Apparently if you press all the buttons above you randomly not only does it not mute the sound, a red light comes on (which stayed on for the entire trip as I couldn't turn it off, despite further button mashing) and people look at you funny. As you can guess the audio is in Spanish too, so even when it's a half decent film like Spiderman or something you have these appalling dubs. More of this forced ...

Cabo San Lucas, Mexico travelgirlmex... we're sounding pretty old, aren't we?) we were taken to a local restaurant for a traditional lunch. It was a beautiful little place in one of the villages in the mountains. They served a spicy grilled chicken (That's what they told us it was, but since everyone tells us iguana tastes like chicken, we'll never know.), rice and black beans, fried plantains, grilled corn tortillas and coffee flan for dessert. We really enjoyed it. As a former travel agent, Tina had been looking ...
