It's not always about getting there.

It is not always about getting there. I enjoy flying First. It makes navigating the airport so much easier, not to mention the attention you get. And, you know I like attention. Well, I'm off to the First Class lounge before boarding my Lufthansa A340-600 to Munich. It will be a relief to be back in a part of the world where I can be easily understood and I can easily understand. Love Asia, but English is not generally well understood in much of it outside the former British colonies. Beijin...

Back to Frankfurt via Mannheim

For the return trip to Frankfurt, I flew Cirrus Airlines, a German commuter, to Mannheim. Mannheim is next to Heidelberg and only a half-hour train ride from Frankfurt. This flight was on a Dornier 328 turboprop. Flying back to Frankfurt via Mannheim is relatively convenient. Mannheim is only 60 miles south of Frankfurt. Trains take only 35minutes to reach Frankfurt's main train station. It was too bad that this was not an option in coming to Berlin this morning, but most of Cirrus' flights ...

Historical Traveler Reviews of Villa Kennedy Frankfurt

Outstanding !!! Top of the class

from Szymon-Luxembourg
I stayed in this hotel for one night in February, when traveling for business. I must admit. that it was one of the best, if not the best hotel I stayed in Germany. Luxurious rooms - huge size, top class bathroom, and state of the art technology. Outstanding room service, and the food very tasteful. Great breakfast - but all this for a price of 450 eur, which is relatively high, even for Frankfurt standards.

If next time in Frankfurt on busiess - I will definitively stay there agin., and would gladly recommend this hotel to everyone else.

Moderne Eleganz in Frankfurt

from W&MGrad
Wir waren für 2 Nächte im Ville Kennedy. Superluxuriöse Zimmer mit Baumwolllaken und Fußbodenheizung im Bad. Die Angestellten sind sehr zuvorkommend, freundlich und hilfsbereit. Sehr moderne Einrichtung in klassischer Lage in Frankfurt. Alles perfekt!

Alles was das Herz begehrt

from LeighBCD

Stayed at the Villa Kennedy over two rainy cold days in February. From the moment I arrived, I was impressed. Great old building that has been completely renovated.

Staff was warm and courteous taking the time despite being busy to welcome me and accomodate my early 7AM arrival. Despite my room not being ready at that early hour, I was given access to the luxurious SPA.

Room was awesome. All the modern ammenities and then some! Heated bathroom floor, gorgeous over-sized bathroom, huge bed, great sound system, and even some kind of electric pants press.

Breakfast buffet was a bit expensive @ 25 Euro, but huge selection of delicious food. Especially liked the selection of smoked fish and herrings!

Only complaint was the sheets on the bed. Not quite 200 thread count, kind of rough, but you get used to it. Pillows, mattress and duvet were comfy. Nice and quiet too. Slept like a baby!

Pretty good location, about 15 minutes walk from the center of town just over the river. Very boutique feeling hotel. Try and get a room facing the inner court-yard.

This is it!!

This was my first visit to Frankfurt and a friend recommended this hotel. I did none of my usual research on either the town or the hotel, so I was pleasantly surprised at the level of care that the staff showed and the level of design and detail of the hotel. I echo the previous positive reviews of the staff and rooms. The staff was efficient, accommodating, and nice. The room and common areas are decorated in "neutral modern elegance". I found spa exceptional for a hotel. The gym was well equipped, a good size pool with sauna and steam were a welcomed site after the flight from the east coast. A private pilates instructor is available. I had a massage, manicure and pedicure in the spa, which were expertly done. We ate the first evening in the dining room. The food was excellent. The breakfast buffet was typically european, well presented, and filling. I would have liked to try the afternoon tea, but we were busy site seeing. The concierge's recommendations for things to see and a typical german fare restaurant for dinner were all right on the mark. The city center is within walking distance. I cannot find anything to complain about. I will not even consider staying anywhere else in Frankfurt. THIS IS IT.

Modern Elegance in Frankfurt

We stayed in the Ville Kennedy for 2 nights. Ultra luxurious rooms with linen sheets heated bathroom floors. The staff is extremely courteous, friendly and helpful. Very modern decor in a classic Frankfurt setting. Everything was perfect!

Everything you could ask for

from LeighBCD
A very nice hotel, not central to the business district, but not far in a taxi. Fantastic ambience, topped by a beautiful candlelit courtyard where it is possible to drink cocktails of an evening when the weather is mild. Rooms were spacious and very well appointed. A great hotel, to be recommended.

Interesting Experience

This may be a bit long, but I want to be sure and cover everything.

Just returned from Frankfurt where we stayed 2 nights at the new Rocco Forte Villa Kennedy. The hotel is built around a 1906 Villa but it is hard to really tell. The entrance is anything but typical...small and intimate vs. the chain-type hotels. The bellboys are out front to wisk away your bags regardless of whether you need help or not. We only had brought carry-on and could have done fine to handle them ourselves, but by the time we reached for them they had been taken. Later we had to wait for them to be brought up which was a bit frustrating since we really would have rather kept them w/us. They took them directly out of the cab and out of site before we realized it.

Over the phone while booking, Jennifer told me she would be sure to get us an room which looks over the inside courtyard which she said is very desirable. At check-in I was told that we did not have the inner courtyard room, but that several were available and if we waited about 5 minutes she could have a courtyard view ready for us. Sounded great. She then offered to treat us to a coffee/cappucino while we waited in the courtyard. It was quite warm out there and we had just traveled over 16 hours..but we thought a coffee would do us good. Well, more than 15 minutes later, no coffees, no word..nada. My husband walked back in to find out what was up and come to find out, not only did they "forget" our coffee, but the front desk gal forgot we were waiting for our room. Nice.

She then escorts us to our room which was a nice touch. The decor looked very nice. Reminiscent of a W Hotel but on a much smaller scale. Not quite as jazzy but definately contemporary and minimalist but with nice little touches.

We arrive to our room and low and behold it is NOT a courtyard room. She says she is embarrased and will fix it right away. She asks us to wait in the room while she finds the courtyard view room. 10 minutes go by and she returns to escort us across the hall to our room. We enter the room and see the rug was covered in lint, crumbs and other unidentifiable pieces of "stuff". Yuk!! We are then told to return to the 1st room and wait yet again while they vacuum. See a pattern here?

Ok, another 10 minutes pass and finally our room is ready. We are beyond exhausted and immediately dress for bed. I was shocked to see that our bed linens were actually LINEN!! Not just regular linen either, but STARCHED LINEN! Exactly like a dress shirt. I have stayed in many a European hotel and never have I seen starched linen. I layed down and honestly, felt like I was sleeping on a padded dining table! Scratchy! On a positive note, the A/C worked fine (although I prefer a very cold room, 18C was the lowest the AC would go). No feather pillows but housekeeping brought up 2 promptly. But don't expect them to speak english.

The bathroom was lovely. Separate tub/shower. Tub was long enough to stretch out in and had a beautiful mosaic on the wall above. No counter space to speak of but there was a bidet. Nice plush robes/velvet-like slippers were fabulous. Private elevator to spa allowed us to wear the robe/slippers w/out seeing other non-spa going guests.

The spa was lovely. Pool, tepid and refreshing w/infinity sides. Jacuzzi WAAAAAAaaaaay to cool! The steam room was pure heaven!! I am not much in to saunas but checked it out and it was clean and nice looking..then back to the steam room.

With about 40+ channels on the nice LCD flat screen TV you would think you could find at least a few English channels (other than CNN), but that was not the case. MTV was in English part of the time if that is your thing, but honestly I would have loved a movie or some other broadcast in English. There was a nice L-shaped sofa in the room and a desk which was great for relaxing. The entry in the room was the original wood floor of the Villa and was soooo pretty. The wall art was very nice too.

Breakfast was a joke. Thank goodness it was included or I would have been furious. The muesli was the only thing I liked. Fruit platter that was picked over, some sausage, bacon and runny scrambled eggs was IT for hot items. Pickled herring and pasta salad were there but for 26 euros one would definately expect a bit more hot food.

This seemed to be a hotel full of business people. Suits were worn by 95% of the people we saw. We were there for a mini vacation and felt a bit out of place.

The location was not too bad. About a 20 minute walk to the Zeil and you can go along the Main which is pretty. No restaurants nearby but the concierge (Timo) has some great suggestions at about 7-10 euro cab ride. I did not try the onsite restaurant for anything but the disappoining buffet. I understand it is Italian.

In my opinon, the disappointing outweighed the good and because of that I would not stay again. Besides, I still cannot get over those sheets!
