We have finally arrived at my favourite first stop, the beach. Yes, now I am fine and happy:). After couple of hrs, we left for Calvi which was only 12 km way from Algajola, our next destination where we had accommodations.

... in 1482 and the imposing citadel still guards the harbour. It was an easy walk into old Ajaccio with its tiny streets and main shopping area just off the port marina.

We headed out to explore the waterfront and shops before going back to the ship for lunch. We then made our way back to the beach area for our first swim in the Mediterranean.

Had a wonderful week in Corsica - beautiful French Island in the middle of the Mediterranean - lots of beaches, mountains and little towns. The food and culture is much more Italian than French and pretty much no one spoke English. Went down South to Bonifacio first, then to Ajaccio which is the capital. Overall a very relaxing 5 ...
