The rest of our time in Arbatax

A travel blog entry by malloryharvie on Jun 23, 2014

The rest of our time in Arbatax was pretty similar to the first two. Getting up first thing in the morning, going to breakfast then catching the bus to the spa where we would spend our day. Our evenings were all the same with showers after we got back from the spa/pools, dinner at the restaurant and sitting out by the main pool, listening to the music.

I did get taken back to that bank once more, this time bringing Brittany along with me. We ended up meeting ...

      ... the place.

We walked in and he spoke to the bank employee on my behalf because nobody there spoke English. He basically told the guy that it was a problem on my end, not his and that nothing was wrong. He did however end the conversation by saying there were 3,000 euros too many in that ATM though - so I knew it wasn't a problem on my end.

Our first full day in Arbatax

Our last activity of the day before we hit the hay was a late night swim in the tropical pool across from our room. It was set up to look more like a beach and we thought for sure we would get kicked out, but we didn't. Eventually we went back to the room and crashed for the night - it's hard work being in the sun all day!

      Getting to Arbatax, Sardinia!

A travel blog entry by malloryharvie on Jun 20, 2014

... mustard. Being cold prevented sleep from setting in and it was a pretty rough night.

When 5am rolled around I sat and waited. I assumed there would be an announcement about the ferry arriving on land, and I could tell from the lights on land we had docked. After a couple minutes and nobody really stirring, I woke Brittany up. Turns out, our ferry only stops in Arbatax and goes to Cagliari, Sardinia. Luckily, we were able to get off the ship in ...

      Stuck in Sardinia

... a mountain of Nutella you could imagine my surprise and to be honest shock! Waffle was nowhere to be seen as it was covered in the equivalent of an entire tub of Nutella, chocolate sauce...AND chocolate gelati. I think there was enough sugar there to surely kill a diabetic. But, as all good travelers do, I tucked in anywhere and finished it gracefully even with a slight burn in my lungs from Nutella clogging my airway! The uphill hike home was ...
