Bar-B-Q at Balaton
See-ya!
Zack and I just spent the last week at the largest and most popular lake in Hungary: Lake Balaton. The lake is HUGE, as in the average width of the lake is 5 miles across. Besides admiring the vastness of the lake, we also "enjoyed" seeing lots of sunburnt skin - as in more skin than anyone ever needs to see. Ever. We also cooked LOTS of Hungarian food, drank wine (which the region is famous for), and attended a genuine Hungarian birthday party.

We lazed at the beach all afternoon. Of course there was no sand so
we lay on the grass. Totes better than rocks. It was the first time I've
ever had to pay for a beach. The idea of privately owned beaches is
just so repulsive to New Zealanders, but when in Europe one must do as
the Europeans do.

Balaton- Plattensee
Nachdem wir ziemlich kaputt vom nachtbus dann im Zug nach Revfülöp sitzen, sind wir froh, so früh dort gewesen zu sein. Immer mehr Leute strömen rein und versuchen noch einen Platz zu ergattern. In unserem Abteil sitzen außer Jens, Simon und mir noch eine junge Neuseeländerin, eine Ungarin und eine ältere Dame, deren Herkunft nicht ganz klar ist. Magenta heißt die Neuseeländerin. Wir kommen ins Gespräch, anscheinend sehr zum leidwesen der alteren ...

... joka näki parhaat päivänsä joskus neljäkymmentä vuotta sitten ollessaan neljän tähden hotelli. Paikka on useampine kerroksineen valtava ja ihan uskomaton. Kun kiertelee tätä vanhaa taloa niin vois luulla, että täällä kummittelee. Korkeat huoneet, puiset kiertävät portaat, sokkeloiset käytävät, pieniä huoneita yllättävissä paikoissa, hämähäkin seittiä nurkissa, narisevat lattiat…tähän paikkaan vaan rakastuu. ... Op een gegeven moment kwam er letterlijk een windhoos. Toen besloten we maar rustig aan naar de Camping te rijden. Maar aangezien je geen hand voor ogen kon zien hebben we de auto maar even aan de kant gezet. Toen er weer te rijden was zijn we verder gegaan. Op de camping aangekomen hebben we even een schade rapport gemaakt. Resultaat 1 losse haring en 1 losse scheerlijn. Binnen in de tent viel de ravage mee met een klein plasje op de grond. ...
