Hallo zusammen,

Bitola, Macedonia schwateHallo zusammen,

Gruss
Ralf
Ohrid, Macedonia schwateHallo zusammen,

Ohrid, Macedonia schwateI opt to chill out for the day and stay in Ohrid. Pretty, peaceful, good hostel, friendly people … The girls, recovering Celine and I explore the town. The highlights are the tiny, Orthodox churches from a half century ago. Lots of personality, interesting frescoes with a backdrop of the mountains and lake. The views as we ...
Ohrid, Ohrid, Macedonia will.traveller... known image of Ohrid with the church set against the deep blue waters of the lake.

Traveling onward we visited the newly built St Clement's Monastery church and viewed the ruins of the older churches being excavated at the site (Plaosnik). We then climbed upward to probably the most impressive church of the bunch -- the Church Mother of God Perivleptos. The frescos were stunning and the helpful woman who sold Efren the ticket gave him a ...
Ohrid, Macedonia michlac... the longest inh*bit*ted chunk of l*nd on the continent. The city of Ohrid, 30-40,000 big, is the site of the first university in Europe, where Cyrilic w*s invented, *nd the whole old town in * UNESCO World Herit*ge site. But the bus ride here w*s the true *m*zement. M*cedoni* is - yep, I *m going to s*y it- the most be*utiful country I h*ve been to. Huge mount*ins, impossibly green, shoot down to tiny vill*ges of brick homes. Wide rivers flow everywhere. Impenetr*t*ble ...
Ohrid, Macedonia pilgrimsaunter... sa naprawde urocze. Ale najwieksze wrazenie robi bazylika sw. Klemensa. Obecny kosciol stoi tuz przy ruinach pierwszej swiatyni, z IV wieku. No i pierwszy raz od dwoch tygodni ...
Ohrid, Macedonia bognaMy two week vacation from the peace corps has finally begun. I've been looking forward to this since my last trip ended in April. Last night I took the night bus from Sofia to Ohrid. Took almost 11 hours. Fortunately I got 2 seats to myself, unfortunately across the aisle from me a man was sporadically throwing up into a plastic bag all night. The border crossing came around 10 pm, took about an hour, pretty painless. Only annoying factor was we had ...
Ohrid, Macedonia mary_zell... women again. What is even cooler about these girls though is that they never see Americans, so they all want to talk to you in their broken English. It is fun to go out and how tons of women approach you! And they LOVE AMERICANS in this town. I am sure they are all just looking for you to spend your money with them but they treat you so nice. The shop owners all attempt to ask where you are from and are so happy when you through out a little crazy ...
