He seemed to know also exactly where the birds would be and took us to a white Heron who fishing on one of the little islands and to a blue Heron who patiently posed for us while we took photos. They must be used to tourists and were not perturbed by us clicking away. Ashore we spotted an iguana and lots of little crabs making their way out of the mangrove.     ... t know if it keeps underemployed sailmakers in business or they just recycle them from decommissioned boats?! Pleasant beach, but nothing to write a blog about!

    ... don’t need to go to Porlamar – take the public bus that leaves on the hour (or slightly earlier!!), every hour during the day, to the main highway (7 bsf) where you can get a collective minibus direct to Juangriego terminal (10bsf).     ... up with some fresh pepper and chilli oil – “I’m in heaven, ….”!

    Enjoyed the rooftop terrace back at the ranch until bedtime - I had the only upstairs room, which was off that terrace and next to the communal cooking/eating area. I had been concerned it might be noisy, but had it to myself. The lovely breeze continued all night so mossies were blown into touch.
