News of tunnel closures In Rouen led to a hasty detour cross country but sat nav saviour came to the rescue ! Arrived at Issoire around 4:30 so our guess of 9 hours driving was about right. Curry for tea at the lovely municipal site, Camping du Mas with Herons soaring above ...

    Heading back

A travel blog entry by mary.braddock. on Jun 24, 2014

We arrived yesterday, travelling for over 150 miles to a campsite in Normandy, ready for the ferry at Caen on Wednesday night. We had not booked in advance so were uncertain that we would get in here but there was lots of space and it has turned out to be a very good site despite it being a council run business.
