          ... trees. Spectacular views of the Mediterranean and of Vernazza. In Vernazza we had another scoop of gelato. Kids had 2 scoops. They are still rebuilding this town from the mud slide damage from 4 years ago. We went down to the water, took some pictures, and then headed to the train station.           ... my broken German and his broken English. The trail descended steeply to Corniglia, we were quite happy we did it in the direction we had. From Corniglia we took the train back to Levanto and planned tomorrow's excursion, which will see us finish off the trail. It has been just so lovely to be spending time out of bustling cities; one does have to visit the cities but I think I'm much more an active, outdoors, fresh air and sunshine tourist.           ... home via the autostrada/ highway to Paggi via Lavagna. Dinner boiled potatoes with cheese and tstasiki, garlic butter a very German way of eating potatoes.
