    ... they do not think twice about driving in outer lanes and a number of vehicles sweep past us at speeds that must be at least 150kms. Interestingly these speeding vehicles are almost always big black Audis and the occasional Merc.     What an amazing day we have had. We woke to bright blue skies and sunshine and set off for our walk along the Cinque Terre trails. We took the train to the south end of the trail, Riomaggiore and set off over the hill tops. All of the coastal trails, except Vernazza to Monterosso, which we plan to do tomorrow, are closed - so it's take the high road or take the train.     ... 2 hours and enjoyed a drink and pizza. Not feeling like walking the return trip we took the train back to Vernazza, very crowded with tour groups unloading as well.
    Had a one hour siesta, freshened up, and needed to do a big wash at the laundromat. Returned to the restaurant where we had dinner last night, and met a young couple from Seattle.

    ... home via the autostrada/ highway to Paggi via Lavagna. Dinner boiled potatoes with cheese and tstasiki, garlic butter a very German way of eating potatoes.
