Villa Felice Relais Amalfi

Nous avons pris l'autobus publique pour atteindre le sommet du vesus, le volcan n'a pas tellement a offrir, mais la vue sur la bay est vraiment belle. Ensuite, nous avons visités les ruines d'Herculaneom. Une autre ville disparue sous l'eruption du vesus il y a pres de 2000 ans. il y a encore beaucoup de travail d'archeologie en cours, mais on peut voir que la ville est meiux conserver, il y a meme des batiments de 2 et 3 etages et des pieces de bois qui ont traversé le temps !

Ola Kala: simply, OK (in Greek). No time for lots of flap.....we're on the go. The Vatican Museums await us (and we can hardly wait to do more walking!). Enjoy the pictures and we'll fill you in on the adventure next time I make the time to sit and gab.

Pity we couldn't get into the large arena as it was blocked off and looked really impressive from what we could see from the outside.

... to Naples was really nice, passing through seemingly endless seas of vineyards flashing by at high speed.
Welcome Inn Hostel in Naples was cool too. An apartment converted into hostel but with good common area and roomy enough dorms.

Wandered around Naples and really like this city. Most exciting one so far in Italy. Some people had said not to go to Naples cause it was dirty and dangerous. Glad I didn't listen as it's my favourite city in ...

... a train to Salerno on the west coast because we're kind of running out of time and we want to see more of the attractive parts of Italy. The amalfi Coast certainly was that. Imagine terraced cliffs growing countless lemon trees and a windy road on the edge of that cliff. Spanning Italian ocean towns. Really amazing. We were forced to pay $50 to camp on the side of a cliff. It was a monopoly.

... go back too. Damn, the sizes were not bug enough for either of us! Next time... The journey back took a little longer after taking a few wrong turns but we made it back in the end! Our stay on the Amalfi coast was coming to an end and our next destination was Tuscany! Shouldn't take too long to get there should it? It was great that Olivia and Marcus took our luggage for us as they were headed there also. What a relief not having to cart those stupid things around.

... were going to the south of Italy where I had never been before. We arrived in Naples and waited for over an hour to get through immigration (well, for Greg to get through while I sat staring at the back of the head of the annoyingly slow immigration lady as she chatted to her neighbour instead of inspecting passports. Bloody Italians). Finally we were out of the airport and into a cab to the boatport. We arrived to find our 'boat man', whose name we have sadly ...

... arrived were especially big news. To break up days of lounging, I made little trips to neighboring towns, wandering around Amalfi, searching for new beaches, and event aking little hikes through the surrounding lemon groves. But everything wasn't perfect. We were a motely crew of strong-willed travellers, each with very unique personalities. Put us all together and there will be lots of fun...and lots of drama. There was the strangely sweet romance between Carolyn ...

Brooks *nd i got ch*tting to two C*n*di*n chicks, Ann* *nd Christine, *nd we m*rvelled *t the f*ct th*t every l*rge evening seems to end up with the comp*ny of *t le*st two C*n*di*ns. It w*s our l*st night in Am*lfi, * pl*ce th*t h*s tre*ted us so very well from word go, *nd on the now f*mil*r illumin*ted stroll b*ck down to Atr*ni, it felt * little s*d to know th*t we'd be le*ving this gorgeous pl*ce tommorow morning.
