... nice to sit in the church and look at the mosaics, thinking that it has been there since Norman times. The priest raved on a bit, and I couldn't understand half of what he said, but it was about the Ten Commandments, and having the Holy Spirit in your heart. Think he liked the sound of his own voice - he was a pretty good singer.
After mass, we went and had a canola courtesy of insight, but it was too rich. ...

... stewed sweet and sour with fennel. As we left, we saw a giant artichoke in the town square, and even saw some growing in a field. We've had two excellent dinners at Casale Drinzi including pizza, pasta, and wild boar stew complete with complimentary digestifs and local spiced fig nut biscuits called cuccidati. ... Domus Lilio, our stop for the night, again with a balcony and mountain view. We had another delicious meal, this time at Petrae Lejum,with grilled vegetables followed by gnocchi and mushrooms and pasta with lamb ragu. Before leaving town, we stopped off to get our picnic made up by Giorggio himself in the local grocers shop.

... to show you. So we arrive at Cefalú and have a delicious lunch. Then we walk around the town and visit some shops. They sell a lot of ceramics and nick nacks. We also stop for our daily dose of gelato! Yummy! We take lots of photos and enjoy the beautiful day. ... you know what to have to climb up and down that huge hill.






Also up on La Rocca is the Tempio de Diana. This temple was built for a goddess in the 4th century. She must have been one special lady because the stones used to build her house did not look very easy to haul up that mountain and stack together. When you walk through ruins and buildings such as these and others we have seen on this trip, it never ceases to amaze me ...
