          ... of lovely churches. The edge of the lake is ringed with holiday van parks, hotels & Pensiones & in summer it must be jammed full of visitors but it was quite comfortable for us with some German older visitors.

          The return bus from Lazise, at 1.30, was nearly full of school kids returning home but they thinned out rapidly as we approached Verona. The countryside appears to be very fertile with many vineyards, olive groves, fruit trees, ...

          ... and we mentioned Seattle, the owner said that he knows Rick Steves who indeed has visited his restaurant. Very proudly he brought out his tablet to show us the video clip. Wine was poured with a very unique aerator that is hand blown glass from Italy. When Kathy asked where we might get one the owner said he would sell us one. Another souvenir of our trip!

          Verona has been a lovely stop and one to recommend for a short stay en route to Venice.

          ... midterms start Monday. I found this really great gelato shop to study in (and it has awesome wifi, which is such a luxury here)!! It is called Vivaldi and it is across the bridge. Some of the best gelato there. I was studying there for about 5 hours today then decided I needed a break and went to dinner at the Central Market with Julia Mattox! I had the best burger and fries (much needed) and topped it off with some gelato. Time to relax now before another full day of ...
