... and out over time. We went for a walk into the forest which took about 3 hours looking at the various rocks which are said to look like certain things. It was quite cool to think we were actually walking on the ocean floor, and we were reminded of this as the path we walked along was covered in sand. Day 0: August 10, 2013

      Arrival

That day we planned to travel across the Czech Republic - from Klatovy (western Bohemia) to a small village close to the city of Broumov (northeast Bohemia). Of course, as itīs popular to do sports in the Czech Republic we wanted to make a few biking ...

... took around 30 minutes, but given the kids had stayed in the garden with their friends and were splashing in the paddling pool, it was an adults only trip which meant we could all fit on the golf buggy. At 40 zł, not cheap, but it saved our legs for the hike through the cave and the walk back down. The cave is very impressive and the walk takes around an hour. There are several open areas where age old stalactites have formed on the ceiling and ...

... Stary Wapiennik at Kletno) which had been restored by an extremely artistic family. A little strange to us non-arty types, they were openly extravert to the extreme. They showed us around their japanese garden and described all the ying and yang elements as well as their own version of 'sunset boulevard' where visitors they consider to be worthy can leave their handprints in cement in the garden. We were obviously ...
