So after exiting the the ferry from Vis we pointed ourselves downstream on the Dalmatians coast eventually heading to Dubrovnik in a few days. Kim's did some reading and we settled on the town of Omiš (ohlmeesh). From Split to Omiš is unremarkable ...water front condo looking structures and endless shops, stores and local tourist garbage. I arrived in Split, Croatia after a 6 plus hour train ride from Cinque Terre across the Italian countryside down to Ancona before catching a 10 hour ferry across the Adriatic sea. The train ride was uneventful, the boat ride was also more or less uneventful, except that I managed to get more sleep than I expected sprawled out on the floor with my bag as a pillow and my scarf as a blanket.
I spent 3 nights in Split. After arriving early in the ...

... a night out, but there was nothing open. After detouring a lot to find a place, we eventually saw people coming out of a bakery in the distance. We speedily walked down there and were a bit disappointed to see very few items of food left... But they did have hot dogs in pastry/bread things, and that was good enough for us. We bought one each and asked for some sauce from the shopkeeper. We were shocked and upset when he said he didn't have any. The hot dog things just ...
